Scott Vurpillatte Obituary

Scott Michael Vurpillatte, age 50, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at his home in Lakeville, MA. Born on Friday, November 9, 1973, Scott was the son of Michael J. Vurpillatte and the late Patricia L. (Flanders) Vurpillatte. In addition to his father Michael, Scott is survived by his four daughters: Talia Vurpillatte of Acushnet, Ava Vurpillatte, Tatum Vurpillatte, and Aria Vurpillatte all of Lakeville. He also leaves behind his sister Elaine M. Vurpillatte of Lakeville, brother James R. Vurpillatte and his wife Desiree of Hanson, Fiancé Nichole M. Beech of Lakeville, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Scott grew up in Lakeville. He was a resident of Acushnet for many years before moving back to Lakeville this past August. He graduated from Coyle Casidy High School in Taunton. Scott owned several businesses throughout the years. Most recent he worked as a foreman for Feeney Brothers in their natural gas division. From an early age he was an avid sports fan, especially of the Bruins. He started playing hockey at the age of 4 up to the junior professional level, and never missed a chance to skate on the pond during the winter. During the warmer summer months, you could find Scott on the lake boating and jet skiing. Another love of his was music, especially live music events. He loved to be outside and grew up riding dirt bikes and street bikes. He shared his love of the outdoors with his daughters, taking them on adventures and teaching them to play sports. Scott was handy too. He loved to build things, starting at the age of two he was pounding nails into the porch.

Scott was a very determined person. He could accomplish anything he put his mind to and worked very hard to provide for his family. Scott wanted to be a motivational speaker and inspire others to make positive changes in their life following struggles with addiction and was working on writing a book about his own story. Above all Scott loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his four beautiful daughters.
