Theresa L. (Mitchell) Mather

Theresa Louise (Mitchell) Mather, age 62, of Middleborough, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday February 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Brockton, on Tuesday February 28, 1961, Theresa was the daughter of the late Warren and Carole (Farrell) Mitchell formerly of Holbrook.

Theresa was an animal lover. One of her favorite pastimes was gazing out her window admiring the view of her neighbor’s horse farm. As a young girl her father gifted her two ponies that she loved and cared for. During her teen years she enjoyed horseback riding. Her love of animals carried on throughout her life.

Theresa lived a private life with her partner of thirty years, her beloved James Kimball of Middleborough. Together they enjoyed traveling and riding on their motorcycle and celebrating the holidays with one another. Their favorite holiday was the Fourth of July. They especially enjoyed watching the fireworks together.

In addition to her partner Jim, Theresa is survived by her loving son Donald Mather Jr and grandson Noah Mather of Goffstown NH. She was the loyal sister of Charles Mitchell and his wife Brenda of Taunton, Stephen Mitchell and his wife Cherly of Cumberland RI, and John Mitchell of Holbrook, MA. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Theresa will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 7:00PM, at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347.
