Music by The Piano Brothers

Our family is very saddened to announce that Roy E. Augustson, 81, died unexpectantly on August 1, 2020.  He was the husband of Carolyn A. Augustson for 59 years.  He was born in Brockton on June 29, 1939 to the late Agda and Eric Augustson.

In 1957 he graduated from Brockton High School. Later he attended Northeastern University School of Business.  He retired from Shaw’s after 43 years. Shortly following his retirement from Shaw’s, he worked for Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home for over 20 years.

Roy was involved with several organizations including Boy Scouts of America and East Bridgewater Music Parents.  He loved to travel and find new restaurants with Carolyn as well as go snowmobiling with family and friends in Pittsburgh, NH.  He vacationed with his family in Ossipee for over twenty years.  Roy’s family was definitely an important part of his life and loved to spend time with them all.  He especially enjoyed family and holiday gatherings.  One of his favorite activities was to go to Cranland Airport in Hanson for breakfast and catch a flight if he was lucky.  Church played a significant part in Roy’s life.  He was a valued member of Union Congregational Church for over 50 years where he served on many committees.

In addition to his wife Carolyn Roy is survived by two sons, Scott Augustson and his wife Joyce, Todd Augustson, and a daughter Kristin.  “Fuf” as he was called by his grandchildren, is also survived by grandson Timothy Augustson, his sister Stephanie Kent and her husband Ryan, granddaughter Kelsey Augustson and her brother Tyler Augustson.  He has one great grandchild, Livy Joy Kent.   Roy was incredibly proud of all of his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Union Congregational Church, Attn:  Memorial Fund, 105 Pleasant Street, East Bridgewater, MA 02333.

PUBLIC Memorial Visitation will take place on Sunday August 9, 2020 from 4-7 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St., Lakeville, MA
