Lillian A. (Shaw) Anglim, 100, of Brockton, MA passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Milton, MA.  She was the wife of the late Richard W. Anglim. Born September 1, 1915 in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Arthur F. and Alice M. (Nylen) Shaw, Sr.

During her 100th birthday celebration, Lillian was personally honored by Mayor Bill Carpenter for being a life-long resident of Brockton.  After graduating from Brockton High School in 1933, she worked as an elevator operator and ladies apparel clerk at Fraser’s Department Store, as a bus driver (as “Mrs. A”) for the Red Feather Private Kindergarten, and as a corsetiere at Smith’s and Lady Grace.  She was a member of the Junior Women’s Club of Brockton and a devoted member of En Ami at Christ Congregational Church, where she was a member for 86 years, making her the oldest living member.

Lillian is survived by a daughter, Cynthia A. Voner; 2 grandchildren, Randall P. Jenkins and Lyn A. Govoni and her husband Steven C. Govoni; 3 great-grandchildren, Lucas J. Jenkins, David P. Govoni and Alicyn C. Govoni; sister-in-law, Thelma Shaw, 3 nephews, Robert Waterman, Donald Waterman, and Russell Waterman; 3 nieces, Andrea (Shaw) Osborn, Diane (Waterman) Allen, and Norma Jean (Waterman) Peirce; and many wonderful grand and great nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late Warren E. “Skip” Anglim; mother-in-law (“Momsy”) to the late Frank Voner; sister to the late Arthur F. Shaw, Jr. and to the late Margaret E. “Peggy” Waterman; and 25-year sweet heart of Brockton police officer, the late James “Jimmy” McClaren, whose family she cherished as her own.  So many precious people not listed here are/were members of her far-reaching community of friends and extended family that she was eternally grateful for.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Christ Congregational Church, 1350 Pleasant St. Brockton, MA.  With visitation prior at the church from 9:45 to 11:00 AM.

So sorry to hear about Lil, she was a sweetheart, the last of the old gang. We had lots of fun playing Uno around Charlotte Dentch's kitchen table. My deepest sympathy to her family.
