Music by The Piano Brothers

David A. Erickson, 86, of Brockton, MA died Saturday, May 7, 2016 after a period of failing health.  Born Monday, January 6, 1930 in Brockton, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Crowley) Erickson.

David did odd jobs around town and was a familiar sight to many people in the Campello section of Brockton.  He would often be seen walking from one location to another or taking public transportation.  Many residents befriended him and people knew who they meant when they referred to “the lawnmower”.  For many years he was a landscaper and a very hard worker.   The Erickson family would like to thank the people of Campello for their kindness and generosity throughout the years.

He is survived by a sister Rita Thayer; a sister-in-law Louise Erickson and many nieces and nephews.  He was also the brother of the late Robert Erickson and Warren Erickson.

A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11:00 am in Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.

I grew up in Campello. Dave was absolutely the hardest working man I ever met. He would always say Hello as he was hustling to another job. Pushing his mower and dragging bags of leaves that were 3 times as big as he was. Always cheerful with a big smile. All of us young fools had had great respect for him.

RIP Dave
