Irma Veiga, 56, of Brockton, MA   passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was the  daughter of the late John Lopes Martins and the late Louisa Monteiro, She was the beloved wife of the late Marcelino Veiga and loving mother to Mark Veiga, Matthew Veiga, and Liza Marie Veiga.

Irma Veiga was born in Brava, and raised in Santo Antao. Irma came from a large family of predominantly strong women; of which she took care of. She was a remarkably dedicated and hardworking woman who, for well over twenty years, was the “Irmanator” of Haemonetics. She was a woman who knew her way around the kitchen and her Lasagna and Chicken Marsala were both mouth watering and to die for. Irma was her family’s rock and foundation and an unlicensed therapist who’s straight forward advice comforted and consoled everyone.

Irma Veiga was warrior and a fighter of  Breast Cancer. Diagnosed ten years ago, she took the disease in stride, never complained , smiled through it all, and held her head high as she marched on into battle. A champion for Breast Cancer, she rallied her friends and family to donate time, money, and compassion to her fight and to others battling along with her. Even at her weakest she never complained and championed on until her last day.

In addition to her beautiful children, she is survived by her grandchildren, siblings, and many nieces and nephews.

Irma Veiga’s Memorial Service will be held at The First Church of the Nazarene 89 N Pearl St Brockton, MA 02301 at 11am.

My thoughts and prayers are with each and everyone of you at this time. I know I am not alone in saying my heart goes out to you all. Irma was indeed a very strong lady. Strong in her convictions, strong through her illness, strong with her caring and love for her family and friends. It is truly a blessing to have known her and her friendship will always be held so dear.
God Bless You
Sheila

Liza, Mark, and Matthew, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Your mother was the nicest person I ever hope to know. She brought her smile with her everywhere she went and passed them out to all. Some of my best days at work were spent with her. We have all been blessed knowing her.
God Bless,
Cindy Gray

There are truly no words to describe Irma, but Saint is probably the best one. I never heard a negative word from her. She always had encouragement and a smile. She was probably the most thoughtful person I have known. David and I send our love and prayers for you. We will miss her until we meet again in Heaven.

I was very saddened to hear of Irma's passing. She was a wonderful lady I had the pleasure of working with at Haemonetics. Prayers to the entire family for strength during this most difficult of times. God bless you all.
