Antonio M. “Tony” Pinho, age 67, devoted husband of 43 years to Ruth I. (Scheinfeldt) Pinho, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA, following a brief illness. Born on Friday, October 12, 1956, in Faial, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio F. and Izaura N. (Pimental) Pinho. Tony graduated from New Bedford High School, class of 1975, and continued his education at Barrington College in Barrington RI, earning his bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in Biblical Studies (of which he was so proud!), graduating in 1979. He and his wife Ruth were married on October 25th, 1980, and have been residents of Raynham, MA, for the past 41 years. Tony worked as a chemist and then as an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for Benjamin Moore Paints for 23 years, which he would retire from in 2008. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his three grandsons, doing “anything and everything they wanted,” especially giving them snacks and treats. His favorite activity with them was going to the Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford MA. Tony will be remembered for his quick wit and humorous sarcasm. If Tony teased you, you knew you were loved. Tony was a faithful member of Community Covenant Church in East Bridgewater.
In addition to his wife Ruth, Tony is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Ruth Llanes and her husband Matthew Joseph Llanes of Raynham, grandsons Camden David, Beckett Michael James, and Asher Jacob Llanes, nieces Christine Savoie & Cindy Borowski, nephew Jimmy Jones, all of Charlton, MA, and other nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Tony will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00PM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11:00AM, at the Community Covenant Church, 400 Pleasant Street, East Bridgewater, MA 02333.
