Arlene E. (Nason) Freeman

Arlene Elizabeth (Nason) Freeman of Mendon, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Milford, Massachusetts, at the age of 94. She was born on Monday, February 3, 1930, in Randolph, Massachusetts, and was the daughter of the late Perley and Annie Elizabeth (Larsen) Nason. Arlene was known for her love of quilting and sewing.  She made beautiful quilts for nearly everyone she knew. Arlene donated countless quilts to the Mendon Senior Center and other local organizations.  Arlene was a talented seamstress and created beautiful wedding dresses for several family members. Over the years, she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, ceramics, shopping at yard sales, and traveling with her family and friends.  Arlene took great pride in her Danish heritage.  She connected with and collaborated with extended family both visiting them in Denmark and introducing them to her family when they traveled to the United States. Arlene dedicated a lot of time and energy to researching her and her husband’s genealogy. Her research traced back to the 1600’s.  Arlene served as a foster parent for many years.  She cared for each child with love and compassion.   

Arlene's career was marked by her service at New England Telephone/Verizon, where she began her career after high school.  She left to raise her family and returned later where she stayed until she retired. She was a graduate of Stetson High School in Randolph.

Arlene will be dearly missed and remembered by her loving sons Larry Freeman and Charles Freeman, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, her stepdaughter Judy, her grandson Robert “Bobby”, her sisters Marion, Eleanor, Helen, and Dorothy and her brothers Howard, Robert, and Alfred.

The funeral services for Arlene are arranged by Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, located at 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, Massachusetts 02347. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 11:00AM – 12:00PM, immediately followed by a memorial service 12:00pm. Arlene will be laid to rest with her late husband Lawrence at South Middleborough Cemetery following the memorial service.
