Alice M. (Anderson) Dolan, age 91, wife of the late Edward V. Dolan, passed away Tuesday February 15, 2022, at the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home in Middleboro. Born on Saturday September 20, 1930, in Malden, MA, Alice was the daughter of the late Bryant W. Anderson and Olivette Nelson Anderson Brown. Alice is survived by her brothers Bryant Anderson and his wife Karen of Marston Mills, and Jerald O. Anderson and his wife Helen of Englewood, FL. She was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Waitt-Luce and brothers Alan F. Anderson and Thomas A. Anderson. Originally from Quincy, MA, Alice was a class of 1948 Quincy High School graduate. She then moved to Halifax, MA, in 1954 where she lived until 2016 when she moved into the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home. Alice first worked at the Quincy Shipyard as a librarian. She then worked for the City of Brockton as a librarian where she would retire in March 1991. Alice belonged to the Halifax COA from 1993-2018, serving as the Halifax representative for Old Colony Elder Services. She also belonged to the Middleboro COA, the American Quarter Horse Association, the U.S. Department of Fish & Wildlife Services, and the National Forest Building Program. Alice also attended the East Weymouth Congregational Church and the Lakeville Church of the Nazarene. When she wasn’t working or giving of her time, Alice had many hobbies. She loved to read… of course, do puzzles, painting of all types; portraits, still life, scenes of nature, and animals. She did lots of arts and crafts, making jewelry, ornaments from goose, and hen eggs, basket weaving, knitting, and sewing. She loved to birdwatch, horseback riding, sailing, and swimming. She really did it all! She also loved watching their race horses racing and winning once in a while, but above all Alice really enjoyed being with all her family. She has many nieces and nephews whom all meant so much to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 17th, 2022, time to be determined, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery where Alice’s cremains will be laid to rest with her late husband Edward.
