Ann M. (Panit) Leahy, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025. Born in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Esther and Joseph Panit, she moved to the South Coast after marrying her husband, the late William Leahy. She resided in Freetown and Lakeville for most of her life.
Ann is survived by her three children, Michael Leahy, Jim Leahy and his wife April, and Debra Rouke and her husband Marc. She was a proud grandmother to four granddaughters, Lindsey and Kelsey Rouke, Erica and Hannah Leahy, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a great-grandson. Ann was also a proud aunt to her loving nieces and nephews.
Over the years, Ann served her community through her work as a teacher's aide at the George R. Austin Middle School in Lakeville and later as a customer service representative at Aetna Insurance Company in Fall River, from which she retired in 2002.
Ann's passions included gardening, birdwatching, and spending time by the ocean. She enjoyed the company of family and friends and found joy in life's simple pleasures, such as her frequent Dunkin’ coffees.
A private gathering for the family will take place to celebrate in her memory. Ann will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Bill, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
