Beverly "Ma Bev" Greene, a woman whose love, faith, and gentle strength left an indelible mark on all who knew her, was born on June 24, 1943, in Boston, Massachusetts, to her loving parents, the late Walton and Mary Louise (Jennings) Christmas.
Beverly was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School. She went on to build a dedicated career, working in computer processing at Massachusetts General Hospital, later serving at Brockton Christian School and Brockton Teen Challenge. She worked faithfully in the finance office at Jubilee Christian Church, a role from which she eventually retired.
A devoted woman of God, Beverly lived her faith out loud and with purpose. She was a cherished member of the Jubilee family, where her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit touched countless lives. She had a special gift for nurturing others-especially young women and children-offering guidance, encouragement, and love that many carried with them for a lifetime. To so many, she was more than a mentor-she was "Ma Bev", a steady source of comfort, strength, and grace.
Beverly further deepened her spiritual walk as she answered the call to study and grow in ministry, equipping herself to serve others with even greater wisdom, compassion, and faith.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, her radiant faith, and the way she made everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. Her legacy lives on in many lives she shaped, the seeds she planted, and the love she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Greene; her sister, Joyce Lewis; and her cherished granddaughter, Nova Imani Ferguson.
Beverly leaves to cherish her memory her son, James H. May III; her daughter Kendra Greene; her son Tyrone Lewis; her sister, Kim (Gavin) Samms; her grandchildren, Tayla (Nicholas) Ferguson, Roman May, Sienna Thompson, Carl Thompson Jr., and Caleb Thompson; her great grandchildren, Xairen Fortune, Jordyn Wilson, Makhi Ferguson, Josiah Ferguson, and Carter Chyanne Ferguson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, spiritual children, extended family, friends, and all who were blessed to call her "Ma Bev".
