Bruce G. Baptiste

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Grant Baptiste, 78, beloved husband of Joanne (Letendre) Baptiste, who departed this life on October 19, 2025, at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA. Bruce's struggle with Alzheimer's, a diagnosis he received in 2018, has come to an end, and he is now at peace.

Born on May 3, 1947, in Middleboro, MA, Bruce was the cherished son of the late Manuel and Ruth (Hatfield) Baptiste. Following his high school graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy from October 17, 1967, until his discharge on September 16, 1969, achieving the rank of FN E-3. He later became a dedicated member of the Laborers Union, Local 721, where he contributed to the construction industry with pride.

A long-time resident of Lakeville, Bruce was a man of many passions. He actively engaged with the Lakeville Council on Aging, demonstrating his commitment to community service. He found joy in masonry and building furniture, and cherished the time spent in his garden. Bruce was an avid road trip enthusiast, often seen driving with a smile in his beloved Nissan Z. His love for dancing brought him happiness, and he shared countless memories with family and friends.

Bruce leaves behind his devoted wife, Joanne, and their loving children: son Joshua Baptiste and his wife Adriana, and daughter Jennifer Campbell and her husband Daniel. He also leaves a cherished granddaughter, Norah Campbell, and his sister, Terry Andrade, along with her husband Anthony. He is remembered fondly by his nephew Jason Nunes, his wife Lisa, and their sons J.J. and Tyler.

To honor Bruce's life, a memorial visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, located at 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with a committal service to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Lakeville Council on Aging, organizations that were dear to Bruce.

Bruce's warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
