It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce E. Terry, 45, who passed away after a brief though courageous terminal illness at home in Attleboro, MA on Thursday August 15, 2024. His humor and kind-heartedness will not be forgotten. Bruce was born and raised in Taunton, MA by his loving parents Eugene Terry and Gayla (Benevides) Frazier-Terry. He was a devoted father to both his sons Gabriel and Noah Terry, who were his everything.
Bruce graduated from Bristol Plymouth High School in Taunton. Later in life he found his calling and passion while working as a Peer Specialist at Community Counseling of Bristol County. He enjoyed his work supporting clients and was grateful for the opportunity to work with a great team to do so.
Over the years, Bruce spent many nights going to concerts and local band shows making memories with friends. Before his sons were born, he looked forward to nights on the bowling league with his family as his teammates. As an avid New England sports fan, he cherished watching the New England Patriots, the Boston Celtics, and the Boston Red Sox. He closely followed UFC, especially on Saturday nights. Bruce cared deeply for his family and spent much of his time with them. Over the years he took an interest in fishing and camping. With his love of the outdoors and desire to always support his sons, he often volunteered to chaperone camping trips to support their troop with the Scouts of America. As a troop, the kids found laughter in hearing and recording him snore ‘louder than the bears. He was extremely funny and would do anything to make others smile.
Surviving in addition to his children and parents are his brother Brad Terry of Punta Gorda, FL, the mother of his children, Heather McKiel of Attleboro, his best friend Steven DeMedeiros, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. We would like to offer sincere thanks to the team at the Old Colony Hospice and Palliative Care of West Bridgewater for the compassion and care he received. Relatives and friends are invited to gather during the Celebrate of Life for Bruce on Sunday, September 8th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347.
