Buddy Goldman Obituary

Buddy Lon Goldman, age 80, husband of the late Donna C. (Newton) Goldman, passed away on Monday March 15, 2021 at his home in Middleboro surrounded by his family. Born on Sunday May 5, 1940 in Hot Springs Arkansas, he was the oldest child of the late Estel L. Goldman and Jewel (Yates) Hendrickson. Buddy entered the United States Air Force in 1957 and served for eight years stationed at Otis Air Force Base on Cape Cod. He met Donna Newton and they were married on June 17, 1962. Buddy was employed at Merckens Chocolate Factory and upon his retirement, was a fixture at Andrew’s Family Automotive in Lakeville. He was a life time member and past secretary of the Mitchell Memorial Club (MMC) in Middleboro, where he spent many years as a coach for the MMC Little League Team. An avid college basketball fan, Buddy traveled to Indianapolis in 2010 to attend the NCAA Final Four, which was a highlight of his life. He was a super fan of Boston sports teams and on many occasions had to turn the channel when the Patriots losing was too much for him to watch. Buddy also enjoyed spending summer weekends at various car shows winning awards with his 1985 Nissan 300Z. He could be found (daily) at his favorite local restaurant, Apazidis in Middleboro. He was always a great supporter of many charities and was known for winning all the raffles at events.  Buddy and Donna were married for 47 years until her passing in 2009. He is survived by his children; David Goldman, Todd Goldman and his wife Sharon, Kim Frankian and her husband Dave, all of Middleboro, and Tim Andrews and his wife Kathie of Lakeville; his six grandchildren, Monica, Cody, Allison, Kelsey, Kristy, and Trevor- who created the most incredible memories for him. He is also survived by his sister Patricia, and his brothers, Sam, Bill, and Ed. Buddy was predeceased by his brothers Rich and Lenny Goldman. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and sister in law, Mary Lou Newton. The family is extremely thankful for the amazing staff at the Taunton Regional Dialysis Center who cared for and treated him like family.  There will be no services at this time, a graveside service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA will be announced at a later date.
