Carol J. (Fidler) DeMoranville, age 84, wife of the late Richard F. DeMoranville, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at her home in Lakeville, MA, following a brief illness. Born in New Bedford, MA, on Wednesday, December 20, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Edna M. (Lees) Fidler. Carol grew up in New Bedford, graduating from high school in 1957. She continued her education at The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts formerly known as North Adams State College, graduating with her bachelor's degree in 1961. Carol and her husband were married in 1965 and were longtime residents of Lakeville. She worked for Freetown Elementary School for 38 years as a second-grade teacher until her retirement. Carol was a big animal lover, especially cats, her own and the neighborhood cats. When she was younger, she loved to just lay out in the sun and take in the fresh air. Carol is survived by her grandson Brett Renauld and his partner Jesse Marble of Lakeville, her cat Kai, and two dogs Marley and Chipper. Carol will be laid to rest next to her late husband Richard with a private burial service at Sampson Cemetery in Lakeville.
