Charlene Mae (Jones) Salvas

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Charlene Mae (Jones) Salvas, age 74, who departed this life on August 13, 2026, in Taunton, Massachusetts, after a brief illness. Charlene, beloved wife of David G. Salvas for the past six years, was born on July 29, 1952, in Middleboro, Massachusetts, to the late George E. Jones, Sr. and Alberta M. (DeMoranville) Jones.

Charlene attended New Bedford High School and dedicated much of her life to her work as an assembly worker at Frank Nunes Shoe Company. Recently, she had moved to Attleboro but had spent many cherished years as a resident of East Taunton. She had a vibrant spirit and enjoyed a variety of pastimes, including traveling, playing bingo, saltwater fishing, and visiting lighthouses.

In addition to her husband, David, Charlene leaves behind her son, Wesley Salvas, and his wife, Kristy Cabral-Salvas. She was a proud grandmother to Brandon and Emma. Charlene is also survived by her devoted brother, William Jones, and his wife, Susan, along with three other brothers: Oscar, Joel, and Gene Jones. She cherished the love of her nieces and nephews-Cheri, Jason, Karyn, Mat, Noel, Fred (and his wife Lindsey), Chris (and his wife Kristen), Melissa (and her husband Joe), Julie (and her husband Russell), Christine, Laura, Katie, and Jessica-as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Charlene was predeceased by her first husband, Brian Reynolds, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years, as well as her brother, George E. Jones Jr., and her nephew, William Jones Jr.

In honor of Charlene's life, a graveside service will be held at Precinct Cemetery in Lakeville on Tuesday September 8, 2026, at 11:00AM.

Charlene Mae Salvas will be remembered for her kindness, her love for her family and friends, and her indomitable spirit that touched the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
