Claire L. (Ferguson) McAfee

Claire L. (Ferguson) McAfee, 102, widow of Harold K. McAfee, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a short illness. Daughter of the late Edwin and Ella (Sabean) Ferguson, she leaves behind grandchildren David from Maine, Lyn, James, and Jill from Florida; nieces and nephews Joyce Pribusauskas with her spouse Bob from Raynham, Paul McAfee and wife Patty from Brockton, Pamela McAfee from New Hampshire, Roberta Benoit and husband Michael from New Hampshire, Janet McAfee from California, Wayne McAfee with his spouse Maria from California, and Scott McAfee and wife Lisa also from California. A lifelong Brockton, Claire was a Brockton High School graduate and later earned a master's degree in education from Bridgewater State College after raising her children. She dedicated 29 years to teaching elementary school in the Holbrook School System before retiring. A member of R.E.A.M., she had a passion for painting landscapes and florals, reading, and knitting, with summers at her East Sandwich beach house being her cherished pastime. Claire was also affiliated with the former First Baptist Church of Brockton. Her funeral service is scheduled for Monday, September 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. Claire will join her husband Harold at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton following the funeral service.
