It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Joseph Dwyer, age 68, who left us on April 15, 2025, at St. Joseph's Manor in Brockton. Born on June 11, 1956, in Boston, MA, Dan was the beloved son of the late Joseph C. and Mary J. (Scanlon) Dwyer.
A graduate of Stoughton High School, class of 1975, Dan proudly dedicated many years to his role as a front-end clerk at Shaw's Supermarket. He also worked at Codman for many years with his father Joe and brother Tom. He will be remembered not only for his work ethic but also for his passion for sports, often found enjoying games or engaging with sports radio.
Dan is survived by his loving siblings, William Dwyer of Lakeville, sister Nancy Nowell and her husband Gary of Boulder, CO, and brother Thomas Dwyer and his wife Margaret of Lakeville. He also leaves behind his niece Loni Dwyer and her fiancé Michael Carbone of Taunton, niece Heather Dwyer and her partner Paul Yzabal of Newport Coast, CA, nephew Corey Phinney and his husband John of Cumberland, RI, niece Amber Nickerson and her husband Cliff of North Troy, VT, niece Rachel Dwyer of Lakeville, nephew Stephen Dwyer of Lakeville, nephew Glenn Nowell of Glenwood, CO, niece Kristi Nowell of Charlotte, NC, as well as several great nieces and nephews; Mariah Dwyer and her fiancé Michael Barros of Taunton, Cameron Carbone of Taunton, and Lincoln Carbone of Taunton.
In honor of Dan's life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 09:45 AM at Holy Family Parish, located at 372 Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton, MA 02718. Following the Mass, a committal service will take place at St. James Cemetery, 44 Liberty Street, East Taunton, MA 02718.
Dan will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the lives he touched. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
