Danielle Dufresne Obituary

The family of Danielle Pauline Dufresne is deeply saddened to announce her passing on June 28, 2026. Danielle was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on July 26, 1978. She is the daughter of Peter L. Dufresne and Marilyn (Springhetti) Dufresne Meewes. Danielle is survived by her parents, her stepfather Kenneth Meewes, and her lifelong partner Todd Pierson and their children Taylor M. Pierson, Jackson A. Pierson, and Jillian E. Pierson. She is preceded in death by her son Torrey Owens. She is predeceased by paternal grandparents Louis and Pauline Dufresne and maternal grandmother Constance Mosher Thetonia. Danielle will be dearly missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews of both the Dufresne and Pierson families and her joyful spirit will be missed by her many lifelong friends.

Danielle's primary passions in life were her family and her friends. As a mother of four beautiful children, as a decades long companion to her life partner, and as a daughter that was compassionate and loyal, Danielle lived her life to the fullest. She lived well, laughed often, and loved much. Her astrological sign is Leo, ruled by the Sun and represented by the Lion. There is only one sign ruled by the Sun. Those born to it shine brightly. Leos are renowned for being deeply caring, warm, creative and loyal individuals and will strongly protect and provide for loved ones.

Danielle had many other loves of life. She devoted years supporting her daughter's participation in cheerleading. When her great aunt Alice Kelley "retired", she and her mom created a new home for Alice and provided years of care and loving comfort. Danielle spent over 20 years as a partner to her mom at Danbridge Kennels, breeding and raising Labrador Retrievers. She adored puppies and she used her wonderful photography skills and keen eye to record their progress from pups to AKC competition. Danielle earned a degree in massage therapy at Dovestar Academy which was enlightening for her.

She absolutely loved watching movies with her children and gathering her kids close to enjoy time together. Their most popular trips with family were to Point Sebago, Old Orchard Beach and North Conway. Danielle also created specialty crafts for friends and family with love and joy. She was an animal lover, particularly cats, and loved listening to many forms of music with friends and family.

In recent years Danielle fought the bravest fight against a very rare cancer but was not able to survive. Her life is a beautiful story cut far too short and she is now in the company of angels.

Her funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, July 10th, at the East Freetown Congregational Christian Church, 4 Washburn Road, in East Freetown. Friends and family are invited to gather at the church between 10 - 11am, before the service, as a time of fellowship and remembrance. Burial will follow the service at the Sampson Cemetery on Route 18 in nearby Lakeville. A short prayer service will be held at graveside.

Her family and friends will hold a Celebration of the Life of Danielle Dufresne at a time to be determined in the next several weeks. In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the Leiomyosarcoma Support & Direct Research Foundation (www.lmsdr.org ) is suggested.
