David I. Lennon, age 81, husband of Dorothy J. (Black) Lennon, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Nemasket Healthcare Center in Middleboro. Born in Boston, MA, on Saturday, February 1, 1941, David was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Moran) Lennon and graduated from Boston English High School Class of 1958.
David worked for Verizon as an installer up until his retirement in 1998. A resident of Middleboro for the past 49 years, David was very active in the community volunteering his time and energy to many local organizations such as the Mitchell Memorial Club, where he was a lifetime member, the Middleboro Knights of Columbus, leader of Cub Scouts Pack 58 of South Middleboro, the Boosters Hall of Fame, St. Kevin’s Emerald Knights, Middleboro’s Little League sponsor, and Coyle Cassidy High School Bingo volunteer. He also belonged to Sacred Heart Church in Middleboro, where he taught C.C.D. classes, and volunteered at the Sacred Heart / St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. David also loved to read and cook.
In addition to his wife Dorothy, David is survived by his children: David Lennon of Middleboro, Greg Lennon and his wife Jennie of PA, Mark Lennon of CT, and Amy Lennon of Braintree, two grandchildren Kacie and Charlie, a step-grandson Jake Ward of Attleboro, his sister Helen Marie Moore and her husband Greg of Seattle, WA. and many cousins. David was predeceased by his son Richard Lennon.
All are welcome to visiting hours for David on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 5:00 – 8:00PM, at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 10:00AM, at Sacred Heart Church, 340 Center Street, Middleboro, MA 02346. Interment will follow the funeral mass at Sampson Cemetery on Bedford Street in Lakeville, MA. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the:
