Donald G. Shearstone

Donald G. Shearstone, age 80, loving husband for 56 years of Diana L. (Pirozzi) Shearstone, passed away on Friday April 8, 2022, at Nemasket Healthcare Center in Middleboro, following a lengthy illness. Born in Dighton, MA, on Saturday November 1, 1941, he was the son of the late Eric G. and Veronica (Bousquin) Shearstone. Donald grew up in Raynham, MA, and was a class of 1959 graduate of Taunton High School. After high school, Donald served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Donald worked in the building trades industry. He worked as a carpenter and was employed by the former Plywood Ranch in Raynham, and at Home Depot. Donald built their first home in Raynham where they lived for many years before moving to Rochester, and currently lived in Lakeville. A simple, and strong man, Donald enjoyed playing golf, cards, reading, and carpentry. In addition to his wife Diana, Donald is survived by his son Peter Shearstone and his wife Carol of Lake Forest, IL, daughter Amy Vermette and her husband Louis of Lakeville, and son Todd Shearstone and his wife Amanda of Worcester, MA, five grandchildren Courtney, Matthew, Christopher, Mia, and Joy, along with several cousins and good friends. Donald was the brother of the late Ann W. Briggs. Visiting hours for Donald will be held on Tuesday April 12, 2022, from. 3:00 – 6:00PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. Followed by a funeral service at 6:00PM. Donald’s cremains will be laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
