Dorothy Crump (Manchester) Mello

Dorothy Crump Mello, age 84, wife of Dennis J. Mello, passed away Thursday October 14, 2021, at her home in Lakeville, MA, following a lengthy 5 & ½ year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born on Thursday December 3, 1936, in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Orin and Ruth A. (Slocum) Manchester. A lifelong resident of Lakeville, MA, Dorothy retired from Truesdale Clinic in Fall River, MA, where she worked as the office manager. Dorothy’s faith was a big part of her life, she was a member of the former Mullein Hill Church in Lakeville, Central Baptist Church in Middleboro, and most recently Cornerstone Community Church in Lakeville. She enjoyed singing, going sailing, riding on a motorcycle, and helping others. In addition to her loving husband Dennis, Dorothy is survived by her six children, Cheryl Craig, Laurie Flanigan, Virginia Adey, John, James, and Tim Crump, fourteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. A “Celebration of Life” for Dorothy will be held on Saturday October 23, 2021, at 2:00PM at Cornerstone Community Church, 111 Highland Road Lakeville, MA 02347. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
