Dorothy A. (Kelly) Wilburn

Dorothy A. “Sissy” (Kelly) Wilburn, age 76, wife of the late Dan L. Wilburn, passed away Monday September 13, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, MA, following a period of failing health. The daughter of the late Mark and Ellen (Salerno) Kelly, Sissy was born in Boston, MA, on Tuesday January 30, 1945. Born and raised in East Boston, MA, Dorothy has been a resident of Brockton, MA, for the past 49 years. Dorothy worked as an operator and manager for several answering services in the area before retiring. When her children were younger, she volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She enjoyed camping, being outdoors, was a big animal lover, and was known to be a practical joker and prankster by her family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Daniela Martel and her wife Brenda of Florida, son Dennis Wilburn and his wife Kimberly of East Bridgewater, daughter Dawn Wilburn of Brockton, son Darren Wilburn and his partner Kelly Bruce of Portland, ME, grandchildren; Mark and Kelly Wilburn of East Bridgewater, Seth Nader of Brockton, and Grace and Noah Wilburn of ME, a brother William Kelly and his wife Elaine of GA, and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter Donna Wilburn. Visitation for Sissy will be held on Sunday September 26, 2021, from 5:00 – 8:00PM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral service will be held the following day, Monday September 27, 2021 at 10:30AM at the Union Congregational Church 105 Pleasant Street East Bridgewater, MA, 02333. Time of service to be confirmed. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her late husband Dan at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne MA, at 1:00PM.
