Elizabeth I. (Jesse) Bryant, age 102, beloved wife of the late Elmer Bryant, who predeceased her after 66 years of marriage, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA, following a brief period of declining health. Born on August 10, 1922, in Fairhaven, MA, Elizabeth attended school in Fairhaven, MA, and remained a dedicated member of her community throughout her life.
A long-time resident of Lakeville and Middleborough, Elizabeth built a successful career as a self-employed hairdresser, known for her caring touch and gentle spirit. Her passions extended beyond her profession; she enjoyed puzzles and actively engaged with the Lakeville Council on Aging, fostering connections with her peers. A devoted communicant, Elizabeth found solace and community at Sacred Heart Church in Middleborough and Sts. Martha & Mary Church in Lakeville.
Elizabeth is survived by her cherished son, Roger C. Bryant, and his wife, Barbara, of Plymouth; two grandchildren, Michael P. Bryant and his wife, Heather, of Virginia, and Kelly Ann Bryant of Pennsylvania; as well as seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also remembered by her brother, Donald Jesse, her nephew, Kenny Jesse, and dear friends and neighbors, Gino and Karen Iolli. Elizabeth was predeceased by her four siblings.
The family invites friends and loved ones to gather in celebration of Elizabeth's life. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, located at 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Cemetery on Wood Street in Middleborough.
