Ella Louise (Duffy) Bettencourt

Ella Louise (Duffy) Bettencourt, age 96, wife of the late Charles J. Bettencourt, passed away Thursday April 15, 2021 at Nemasket Healthcare of Middleboro MA following a brief illness. Born on Friday May 23, 1924 in Attleboro MA, Ella was the daughter of the late John T. and Ethel G. (Mattison) Duffy. A resident of Middleboro and Wareham Ella worked as a school bus driver for the Middleboro Public School System for 25 years. Ella and her late husband Charles enjoyed square dancing and belonged to many dancing clubs in Massachusetts and Florida. She also enjoyed playing cards, knitting, crocheting, and playing dominoes with her grandchildren. Ella is survived by her son Charles S. Bettencourt and his wife Kathy of Taunton, son John T. Bettencourt and his wife Sandra of Middleboro, daughter in law Patricia Bettencourt of Middleboro, nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Ella was predeceased by her son Francis D. Bettencourt. A private family graveside service for Ella will be held at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne following cremation.
