Emilio Mirra, age 70, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Born on April 14, 1951, in Dragoni, Italy Emilio was the son of Luigi Mirra and the late Rosalina (Morgillo) Mirra. He immigrated to the United States in 1970 where he worked hard as laborer and later for the company Talbots. He was introduced to his caring wife, Diana (Beilfuss) Mirra by close friends over 45 years ago. Together they raised three daughters, Christina Mirra, Teresa Mirra and Katherine Brady, who were the pride and joy of Emilio’s life.
Emilio loved gathering with family and friends. You could often find him in the kitchen cooking or manning the grill. Emilio was most at home outdoors hunting, fishing, playing bocce or taking part in an intense game of horseshoes. Anyone who knew Emilio knew that besides his girls and grandchildren, Emilio took immense pride in his garden. Every summer Emilio would spend hours in his garden, making sure there were enough vegetables to share with everyone and anyone.
Though Emilio was a man of few words, he loved talking about his Red Sox and Patriots, giving gardening tips to anyone who asked and even those who didn’t and keeping everyone up to date on his family’s accomplishments.
Emilio is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Diana, his daughters, Christina, Teresa and Katherine, his son-in law Daniel Brady and his beloved grandchildren, Emilio, and Vivian. He also leaves behind his siblings Maria Caso, Rosa O’Neil, Franco Mirra, Marta Farrell, Claudio Mirra, Arturo Mirra, Vincenzo Mirra, Giovanni Mirra, and his father Luigi Mirra. He was honored to be an uncle to all his nieces and nephews and to be included in the lives of so many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association to assist in their effort to find a cure for Diabetes, a hope that was dear to Emilio’s heart. A memorial fund in Emilio’s name can be found here https://www.diabetes.org/?form=Donate
