Evelyn M. (Ashworth) Strain

Evelyn M. (Ashworth) Strain, age 93, wife of the late William G. Strain, passed away on Friday January 6th 2023, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, MA. 

Born in Sanford, ME in 1929 to George and Ellen Ashworth . Evelyn graduated high school and went to nursing school in Boston, MA.  Early in her nursing career, Evelyn and William met when William was diagnosed with polio while serving in the Navy.  They married and moved to Brockton where Evelyn continued her nursing career and William worked for the postal service.

Evelyn was active in the Eastern Star in her younger days, loved to play cards, cook and spend time with her family.

She passed surrounded by loving family and is survived by two sons, William and Andrew, grandchildren Benjamin and Emily, and great granddaughter Layla. Evelyn will be laid to rest with her late husband William at a private family graveside service in Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater, MA.
