George Robert Smith, III

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, George R. Smith lll, 57, of Lakeville walked home with the Lord. Husband of Judith M. Smith, son of Anne Smith & the late George R. Smith Jr. Brother to Danielle F. Smith. Father to Sarah, Keisha, Cassandra, Clarissa & Kurt. George was a devoted "Pup" to his 8 grandchildren: Karter, Kaelani, Corbyn, Richard, Kainen, Kaleb, as well as Bo & Paisleigh.

Mr. Smith was a humble, simple kind of man with a gentle spirit & genuine character. He was a steadfast family man & an animal lover, his favorite being his most faithful pup, B.B. Mr. Smith graduated in 1987 from Apponequet High School where he studied Machine & Tool Technology. He went on to dedicate more than 34 years to the Freetown-Lakeville school district as a Custodian where children referred to Him as "Mr. George" & that made him proud.

His Lord said to him, "Well done, good & faithful servant..."

We will all carry him with us & honor him in all that we do. Services will be private as his family navigates this sudden & immeasurable loss. A Celebration of Life is to be scheduled at a later date.
