Gerald Ouellette Obituary

Gerald “Jerry” Joseph Ouellette, 83, of Bridgewater, MA, loving husband of Irene Castilloux Ouellette passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, after a brief illness surrounded by his family.

Born on Sunday, March 31, 1940, in Dartmouth, MA, to the late Philias and Claudia (Bruneau) Ouellette. Jerry lived in both Dartmouth and Fall River, MA. He shared his childhood with his late brothers Ernest, and Bernard Ouellette.  He grew up living next door to the love of his life, Irene.

He graduated from Diman Regional Vocational School in Fall River, MA in the class of 1958.  On June 15, 1963, he married Irene Castilloux, his best friend, life partner, and love of his life.  Together they moved to Bridgewater, MA to raise a family.

Jerry was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Raynham, MA.

Jerry started his career as an entrepreneur owning and operating his own potato chip distribution service for “Made Rite Potato Chips”.  He worked as a construction manager on a variety of projects.  He joined the Army National Guard in 1958, getting called up to active duty in October of 1961 and eventually became a full-time soldier in 1965 from which he supported his family. Jerry would be called up to active duty again in 1987 before his retirement with the rank of Sergeant First Class.  He was a proud Veteran of the United States Military.

Jerry loved his family deeply and was devoted to their well-being and success.  He enjoyed camping especially by the ocean with his family.  He enjoyed coin collecting, cooking, and enjoying a good meal.  He liked to watch a Patriots game, play cards and cruise around enjoying his sports car.  He could cultivate a great garden tomato.  Most of his spare time was spent enjoying time with his family and friends.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Irene of 60 years, daughter Lori Pay and her husband Michael, son Gerald D Ouellette and his lifelong companion Nichole LaPerriere, 5 grandchildren: Cassandra, Elizabeth and Christopher Pay; Jaelyn and Jaxon Ouellette, as well as his 3 step grandchildren Brittany Tainsh and Jakob and Samantha Walkden and 3 nieces.
