Gertrude E. (Kilduff) McCarty, age 94, wife of the late Christopher Owens McCarty, passed away suddenly on Saturday August 14, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Born on Tuesday September 21, 1926, in Providence, RI, Gertrude was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Helen G. (Martin) Kilduff. A resident of Lakeville, MA, Gertrude was a member of the Lakeville Council on Aging, and St. Isidore Church in Lakeville, MA. She enjoyed knitting, traveling, and spending time with her family. Gertrude is survived by her, four children, Patricia Burchell of Palm Bay, FL, Donna Adams and her husband Benjamin of Lakeville, MA, Pamela Arruda and her husband Dana of Sebastian, FL, and Christopher McCarty and his wife Debra of Boynton Beach, FL. Grandchildren, Lisa (Nepini) Leca, James Nepini, Lynn (Nepini) Lopes, Leonard McCarty, Christine (McCarty) Rice, Amanda (McCarty) Donaher, Kyle Arruda, Kory Arruda, Kendra (Arruda) Alix, and Kourtney (Arruda) Morris, twenty-five great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gertrude was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, William, and James Kilduff, and her sister, Margaret Smith. Visitation for Gertrude will be held on Thursday August 19, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday August 20, 2021, at 10:00AM, at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Road, East Freetown, MA 02717. Gertrude will be laid to rest with her late husband Christopher at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Taunton, MA.
