Helen J. (Carr) Asbury

Helen J. Asbury, age 81, loving wife of Carl E. Asbury, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Oak Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Middleboro. Born in Boston, MA, on Friday, September 11, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Elizabeth “Mae” (Tucker) Carr.

Helen grew up in Roslindale, graduating from Roslindale High School. She and her husband Carl were long time residents of Lakeville, MA. Helen worked as a cashier/clerk for several retail stores including Hartland, Stop & Shop, and Walmart. She enjoyed traveling and crafting, but at the center of it all was her family. Family was everything to Helen and she loved to host family gatherings.

In addition to her husband Carl E. Asbury, Helen is survived by her children, Carl Thomas Asbury and his wife Tia, Jean M. Davis, Robert C. Asbury and his wife Donna, sister Kathryn Coull, and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Daly, and brother Albert “Barty” Carr.

Memorial visitation for Helen will be held on Monday October 23, 2023, from 4-7PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral service for Helen will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2023, at 12:00PM, also at the funeral home before going processional to the Massachusetts National Cemetery for the committal service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
