Howard D. Moquin, age 84, loving husband of Beverley L. (Leighton) Moquin, passed away on Saturday March 27, 2021 at his home in Florida. Born on Sunday January 3, 1937 in Middleboro, he was the son of the late Alex and Elise (Desrosiers) Moquin. High School sweethearts, Howard and Beverley married on June 30, 1957 and raised three sons; David, Gary, Tracy and their only daughter Brenda. Howard started his career as a machinist and decided he would much rather work outdoors. Howie was a father who took pride in working hard, building his construction business in 1958. He was a skilled heavy equipment operator and had a passion for the construction industry and never knew when to stop. One of his favorite past times was riding around on his property on his John Deere Gator and his upgraded edition Kubota which allowed him to enjoy all of New England’s unpredictable weather. When he was home in Middleboro, he loved to go out to breakfast on Saturday mornings to Dave’s Diner. The crew at Dave’s always made him smile, laugh, and made him feel like part of the family. Let’s not forget the endless board card game of marbles, he was always out to win over his beloved wife Bev. He loved the competition and took endless opportunities to egg her on. Howie and Bev enjoyed their winter home together in Florida; this was truly their “happy” place. One of the aspects that made Florida their second home were the invaluable friendships they formed while they were there. He always expressed how truly grateful he was to be welcomed into and loved by the tight knit community of The Great Outdoors RV Golf Resort in Titusville, Florida. During his time there, he served on the ARC committee and the Board of Directors for two years. In Middleboro he was a lifetime member of the Middleboro Lodge of Elks and also served on the Board of Trustees. In addition to his wife Beverley, Howard is survived by his four children; Dave Moquin and his wife Shelley, Brenda Levesque, Gary Moquin, and Tracy Moquin and his wife Donna, all of Middleboro, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Howard was predeceased by his brothers Edward, Leo, Harold, and sister Irene. A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 3, 2021 at 1:00pm at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347.
