James H.S. Melville II, 76, formerly of Raynham, Massachusetts, and most recently of Minetto, New York, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 15, 2022.
Jim Melville was born in Huntington, New York to the late Charles and Camilla (Hayward) Melville and raised in Shoemakersville, PA. He was a resident of Massachusetts for five decades prior to moving to Minetto, NY in 2019.
Jim was a U.S Navy veteran and proudly served from 1963-1966. He was previously employed as a sales Manager in the semiconductor test industry working for Raytheon, GenRad, Teradyne and later owned and operated T3S in Lakeville, Massachusetts. Jim was an active Ham Radio Operator call sign ND1N. He was an experienced pilot and enjoyed owning his own plane for the majority of his adult life. He also liked photography, but he gained the most joy out of his life from his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his former wife, mother of his children and lifelong friend: Catherine (Byron) Melville of Raynham, MA; their children: James H.S. “Stewart” (Maureen) Melville III of Liverpool, NY; and Sara (Brad) Schaefer of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; his brother Hayward (Kate) Melville of Bulgaria, grandchildren: Darby Melville, Gillian Melville, Ethan Melville, Jack Melville and Riley Schaefer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was proceeded in death by his parents and sisters Mary Melville Staas and Ann Melville Wilson.
