James Edward Savage

James Edward “Jay” Savage, age 69, entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, surrounded by his family. He fought a 9-month battle with end stage renal disease with extreme courage. As bad as the symptoms became, he never once complained. We told him he was the bravest man we knew. Jay was born on December 14, 1953, to parents Louis H. Savage and Blanche (Dion) Savage. He was educated in the Brockton school system until high school graduating from Xaverian Brothers High School in 1971. He went on to earn an associate degree in business from Massasoit Community College and a bachelor’s degree in business from Stonehill College, Easton MA. Born and raised in Brockton, he was an amazing athlete and was involved in many sports including baseball, football, hockey, and basketball, playing for the local teams. Jay also resided in Peoria, AZ from 2004-2013 before returning to Massachusetts. He worked for Ralsco Kitchens; a custom kitchen cabinet company founded by his father until it closed in 1980. He then worked in customer service and Real Estate with Keller Williams until retiring in 2020. Jay had many interests including anything sports related, playing his guitar, the ocean, vacationing on Cape Cod and spending time with his family, friends, and spoiling his boxer Mason, who passed last September. He was a member of Brockton Assembly of God and Phoenix First Assembly of God. He will be remembered for his strong faith in God, his kind and generous heart, and his sweet smile. We will carry on the legacy he left until we see him again in Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Deborah (Messer) Savage, daughters Kristen, Marisa, and Alyssa, and grandchildren Cerissa, Noah, and Gracie; sister Nancy (Savage) Brown of The Woodlands, Texas, brother Russell and his wife Jodi of Onset, MA & Mount Pleasant, SC, sister Lisa of Roslindale, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard. A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:30 AM, at the Brockton Assembly of God Church, 199 Warren Avenue Brockton, MA 02301.
