Janet T. (Brisson) Michel, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at her home in Lakeville. Janet was born in Fall River, MA, on Wednesday, March 14, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Joseph “Pete” Brisson and Justine (Ouellette) Brisson. Janet attended catholic school while growing up in Fall River and worked as a cook and server in the restaurant industry up until her retirement and was a communicant of Saints Martha & Mary Church in Lakeville. Janet was a phenomenal cook and loved to cook for her family. In 2008, she wrote a book of family stories and recipes to pass down. An avid reader, Janet always said that reading transported her to places she’d never been. She often did word puzzles to pass the time. Janet had a passion for music and loved to sing the old songs that she grew up with from The Hit Parade and from the movies she would see at the local theater. She had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful storyteller. Her lifetime spanned the Great Depression and World War II while one of ten children growing up in Fall River. Her stories not only brought to life the history of her family, but also the chronicles of daily life in post-depression and WWII era America. Three of her brothers and brother-in-law served during the war and Janet was very proud to share their heroic stories. Janet is survived by her son Romeo Michel of Waterbury CT, daughter Lizette Michel of Plymouth, MA, son Jerry Michel and his wife Kerry of Middleborough, MA, son Chris Sprague of Lakeville, MA, son Gregory Sprague of San Francisco, CA, grandchildren; Heather, Brian, Jennifer, Jodie, Patrick, Kristen, Cameron, Cassandre, Andrew, Kai, and Jesssica, and thirteen great grandchildren. Janet was predeceased by her grandson John Peter.
