Jason D. Saccocia, age 45, husband of Heather (Baptiste) Saccocia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday January 7, 2022. Born in Boston, MA, on June 7, 1976, he was the son of Beverly A. (Cheney) Saccocia, and the late David N. Saccocia. Jason was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, earning his bachelor’s degree in communications, and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Formerly of Bridgewater, Jason has been a resident of New Bedford since 2005 and owned and ran Jason’s Bridgewater Barbershop. A member of the Knights of Columbus, he was an avid New England sports fan. He loved coaching his daughters Bay State Girls Softball team, and Acushnet Youth Soccer team. A craft beer and “bar pizza” connoisseur, Jason loved to hike and take walks with Milo and family and loved to travel. He has left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. In addition to his wife Heather, and mother Beverly of Dennis, MA, Jason is survived by his 2 daughters Avery and Payton, sister Jennifer Kelley and her husband Joe of Easton, sister Julie Saccocia Augustine, mother and father in-law Wayne and Susan Baptiste of New Bedford, sister-in-law Tanya Viera and her husband Wayne of New Bedford, nieces and nephews Dylan Augustine, Vanessa Augustine, Shannon Kelley, Erin Kelley, Corey Viera, Lindsey Viera, and great nephew Damon Morris III, including several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation for Jason will be held on Thursday January 13, 2022, from 4:00-7:00PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday January 14, 2022, at 11:00AM at Sts. Martha & Mary’s Catholic Church 354 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. Jason will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Bedford following the funeral mass.
