Jean Anderson Obituary

Jean L. (Moffet) Anderson, 95, widow of Carl A. Anderson, died on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at her Berkley home, surrounded by her family after a sudden health decline. Born to the late James W. Moffet and Lillian E. (Wright) Moffet on October 21, 1928, in Kilburn, London, England, Jean attended school in England and completed her education in the United States. She and Carl, who met in England during his U.S. Air Force service, wed there in 1948 and later settled in Brockton, U.S., where she lived for 60 years before her final 16 years in Berkley. Jean, a devoted mother to Ronald, Karen, and the late Janet, created a loving home and worked as an office administrator at Alden Products, retiring in 1988. An excellent cook and skilled in knitting and crocheting, she crafted blankets and garments for the newborns of family and friends. Jean and Carl enjoyed camping, fostering friendships and connections. A dedicated member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brockton, Jean leaves behind her children Ronald (and wife Sharon) of Bridgewater, Karen McSweeney (and husband Joseph) of Berkley, sister Elizabeth Broadwood, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her brother Moffet. A public memorial will be held at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 900 Main Street, Brockton, MA, on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with a private interment at Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton, beside her husband Carl.
