Joan E. (Norris) Newcomb

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan E. “Norris” Newcomb. Joan passed away on Sunday April 28, 2024, after a period of declining health. She was the devoted wife of the late Arthur F. Newcomb, and the loving mother of Stephen, Kevin, and Gregory Newcomb. Born in West Bridgewater, MA, on Wednesday, September 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John H. and D. Evelyn (Sylvia) Norris. Joanie worked for Sears and Roebuck before staying at home to raise her children. Later on, after her children were grown, she worked for the Town of Lakeville, holding positions with the Treasurer’s, Clerk’s, and Assessor’s offices. In her spare time, Joanie loved to knit hats and scarves for homeless shelters. In addition to her three sons, Joanie is survived by her brothers John Maltais and James Norris, sister Arlene Rollins, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Evelyn Pinard. With respect to Joan’s wishes, there will be no services held.
