Joanne Kiesel Obituary

Joanne Caddick Kiesel, age 66, loving wife of William Kiesel for 40 years, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, after a period of failing health. Born in Braintree, MA, on December 2, 1955, Joanne was the daughter of the late Fredrick H. & Patricia (Kelly) Caddick. Joanne was a class of 1973 graduate of Braintree High School, she continued her education at Blue Hill’s Technical Institute, earning her associate degree in 1975. Joanne worked in I.T. during her career, she worked for AccuData in Avon, where she and her husband Bill met. She then worked for Titleist and FootJoy worldwide in Fairhaven. Most recently Joanne worked for the Bridgewater Ice Arena, working the various events and high school games. Joanne and Bill married on December 5, 1981, later moving to Lakeville in 1986 where they raised their two children, Timothy, and Samantha. Joanne had many interests and talents, she enjoyed playing golf, mostly at the Back Nine Golf Club in Lakeville, attending Zumba classes at the Middleboro YMCA, taking yoga classes at the Maha Center in Bridgewater, visiting Waterville Valley, NH, supporting youth, high school and college ice hockey and lacrosse, and watching the New England Patriots. Joanne was also a big quilter. She enjoyed quilting with her friends at Emma’s Quilt Cupboard in Franklin, cross stitching, “Stitch n’ Bitch” with her neighbors, and other sewing crafts like pillowcases for charity. In addition to her husband Bill, and children Timothy and Samantha Kiesel, Joanne is survived by her daughter in law Colleen (Doogan) Kiesel, sisters Elaine Caddick, Donna Caddick, Linda Gajdos and Patti Ann Caddick, sisters in law Donna McGowan and Jean Lynch, and her many nieces, great nieces, nephews and God children. Joanne was predeceased by her brothers James and Thomas Caddick. Joanne’s family would especially like to thank the Brockton Visiting Nurses, Dana Faber Cancer Center in Weymouth, and the Attleboro Fresenius Dialysis Center for their compassionate and understanding care for Joanne over the last five years. The support of these organizations kept us together and allowed the family to care for Joanne at home. We would also like to thank the Town of Lakeville Fire Department EMT Services for their support and professionalism when transporting and assisting Joanne.
