It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Robert Daigle Sr., age 88, who departed this life on October 31, 2025, at his home in Middleborough, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. (Rafuse) Daigle.
Born on March 8, 1937, in Boston, MA, John was the cherished son of the late Milma (Maki) Daigle and Albert R. Daigle. He graduated from South Boston High School and subsequently dedicated his career to the sea as a self-employed lobster fisherman, proudly owning Neptune Lobster & Seafoods. A steadfast man of faith, John was a member of the Catholic Church and carried the values instilled in him throughout his life.
John's adventurous spirit extended beyond his profession; he relished fishing, hunting, camping, and working on cars, filling his days with passion and a love for the outdoors. He served honorably in the United States Air Force from January 12, 1959, to November 16, 1962, demonstrating a commitment to his country that will always be remembered.
John leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter Michelle Driscoll, grandson Joseph Driscoll, his sister Mary Doolin, son-in-law Donald Driscoll, and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was a pillar of strength and an inspiration to all who knew him.
A committal service will be held on Tuesday November 18, 2025, at 11:30AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Mary.
In this time of mourning, we invite family and friends to celebrate John's remarkable life, remembering the warmth and joy he brought to all. He will be missed dearly but will forever remain in our hearts.
