John Kenyon, Sr. Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John F. Kenyon Sr., aged 91, who departed this life on April 17, 2026, at the West Bridgewater Life Care Center following a period of declining health. John was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn D. (Wiedemann) Kenyon and a cherished father and friend to many.

Born on November 29, 1934, in Brockton, MA, John was the son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Mullin) Kenyon. A lifelong resident of Brockton, he graduated from Brockton High School in 1952 and dedicated 43 years to his career at Edison Company, now known as National Grid, where he served in various capacities including as a meter reader, in maps and records, and as a lineman dispatcher.

John was a man of many passions. He found joy in the great outdoors, particularly through hunting and fishing, and was an active member of the Masons, Shriners, and the Lions Club of North Easton. His spiritual life was rooted in his attendance at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brockton, where he forged lasting connections within the community.

John is survived by his two sons, John F. Kenyon Jr. and Dean Kenyon, both of Brockton; his brother Richard Kenyon of California; and his sister Elizabeth of Maine. He is also remembered fondly by his nephews David, Darrin, and Thomas, and niece Kathleen. In addition to his late wife Carolyn and his daughter Lynne D. Kenyon, John was preceded in death by his brother George Kenyon.

Funeral services to honor John's life will be held at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church 900 Main Street Brockton, MA 02301, on Saturday June 27, 2026, at 11:00AM. His remains will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Carolyn and daughter Lynne at the South Easton Cemetery, a final resting place that reflects the love and devotion he held for his family.

In this time of sorrow, we invite family and friends to come together to celebrate John's rich life and the many memories he leaves behind. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before him.
