Joshua Lang Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joshua Alan Lang, age 35, who left us on January 6, 2026, at his home in Lakeville, MA. Born on February 8, 1990, in Taunton, MA, Joshua was the cherished son of Robert A. and Carolyne (Corliss) Lang.

Joshua was a proud graduate of Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School, where he earned his diploma in Welding in 2008. He explored his academic interests at UMASS Dartmouth and Bridgewater State University, ultimately pursuing a career in Criminal Justice. His dedication to helping others led him to work as a mental health worker at Bridgewater State Hospital, before he completed his training to become a Correctional Officer, a position he held for twelve years at the Massachusetts Treatment Center in Bridgewater.

In his personal life, Joshua was a devoted fiancé to Alyssa Secour Lang and a loving father to their two children, Scarlett B. and Cole R. Lang. He was deeply loved by his family, including his mother Carolyne, father Robert, and his adoring, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Joshua's adventurous spirit shone through in his many passions. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones, whether through watching movies, playing guitar, or traveling. He fondly recalled family camping trips across the United States, sharing unforgettable moments in state and national parks to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Mount Rainier, and Mount Saint Helens, and cherished the memories made with his father on motorcycle road trips. Josh navigated he and his father's five-week trip to Glacier National Park in Montana. He often shared these camping experiences with his co-workers. These memories will always be cherished.

As a child, Joshua's enthusiasm for sports was evident as he played T-ball, practiced karate earning his yellow belt, and engaged in thrilling paintball games with friends, often mentoring younger players on strategy and gun safety. His love for fast vehicles and modifications manifested in both cars and motorcycles, bringing joy to his life and those around him.

Joshua will be remembered for his infectious smile, great sense of humor, and quiet strength, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

A remembrance will be held to honor Joshua on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, located at 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347.
