Lawson Hamilton “Bud” Billings Jr., age 88, passed away Saturday July 9, 2022, at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA, following a period of failing health. Born in Plympton, MA, on Saturday January 20, 1934, Bud was the son of the late Lawson Hamilton Billings Sr. and the late Edith (Colbert) Billings. He attended Middleborough High School, and was a longtime resident of Nantucket, MA, while he owned and operated B&M Distributors up until his retirement in 2002, before moving to Lakeville, MA. Bud loved to be outdoors working in the yard, tending to his garden and even some farming as well. It was something Bud took great pride in and kept him busy following his retirement. He also was a big sports fan, especially the New England teams, the Patriots being his favorite, but was a big fan of baseball and the Boston RedSox. You could also find Bud in the kitchen or by the grill as he enjoyed cooking as well. He was a member of the Mitchell Memorial Club and Elks Club both of Middleboro, and the Upland Club in Plympton, MA. Lawson is survived by his two sons Jimmy Billings of ME and Eddie Billings of Arizona, his devoted companion and significant other of 8 years Barbara Vesey, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother David Billings, and sister Karen Billings. Lawson was predeceased by his daughter Patty and sister Audrey. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Agawam Cemetery in Wareham, MA. A public Celebration of Life for Bud will be held on Sunday July 31, 2022, at 12:00PM at the Upland Sportsmans Club in Plympton, MA.
