Lillian C. Dunham, age 95, passed away on Wednesday December 27, 2023, at her home in Lakeville following a brief illness. She was the loving wife for 66 years of the late Ronald Dunham Sr. Born in Middleborough, MA, on Saturday, September 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Nellie (Faille) DesRosiers. She is survived by her children: Ronald Dunham and his wife Angela, Claire Dunham, Joanne Pritchard, John Dunham, and his wife Scheren, and Michael Dunham and his wife Maureen, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, brother Napoleon DesRosiers Jr, sister-in-law Barbara Berry, brother-in-law Robert Dunham, and her beloved dog Sammy.
A longtime resident of Lakeville, Lillian worked at Sts. Martha & Mary Church in Lakeville as a housekeeper and as a cook in various area restaurants. Lillian even owned her own chocolate and handmade confection company called “Lilly’s Pops” which were shipped nationwide and was well known for the wedding cakes she created. She was President of the Lakeville Council on Aging’s “Golden Seniors” for 25 years, and President of the Ladies Sodality. An active member of Sts. Martha Mary Church, Lillian managed fund-raising events such as BBQ’s, church yard sales, food fairs, bingo, and whist parties from 1959 to 1995.
Visiting hours for Lillian will be held on Wednesday January 3, 2024, from 4:00-7:00PM, at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10:00AM at Sts. Martha & Mary Church 354 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. Lillian will be laid to rest with her late husband Ronald at Lang Cemetery in Lakeville immediately following the funeral mass.
