It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda A. (Alves) Duphily, age 76, who departed this life on September 17, 2026, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. She courageously faced a yearlong battle with cancer. Born on March 30, 1950, in New Bedford, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Manuel P. and Alice (Morin) Alves.
Linda pursued her passion for cosmetology at the LeBaron Hairdressing Academy. She dedicated many years of her life to her work as a hairstylist, bringing joy and beauty to her clients. In her later years, she lovingly became a caretaker for family members in need, showing her deep compassion and unwavering support for those around her.
A resident of Middleboro, Linda embraced life with enthusiasm. She enjoyed belly dancing, tending to her garden, and indulging in her favorite pastimes, including playing scratch tickets and trying her luck at slot machines. As a devoted cat lover, Linda cherished her two feline companions, Tigger and Coco, whom she lovingly referred to as her "babies." Linda was also a woman of faith, holding steadfast to her Catholic beliefs.
Linda leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Brian K. Carvalho, and his wife, Bela Carvalho. She is also survived by two grandsons, Keith and Kyle Carvalho, and one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Farrands. Her loving nature and willingness to assist those in need will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Linda was truly a great soul, and she will be deeply missed.
In honor of Linda's life, a memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, located at 280 Bedford Street, Lakeville, MA 02347. Following the visitation, a prayer service will take place at 2:00 PM to conclude the ceremonies.
May she rest in peace, and may her spirit live on in the love she shared with all.
