Loretta A. (Sauer) Carey

Loretta A. “Ret” (Sauer) Carey, age 82, loving wife for 62 years of Francis J. Carey, passed away suddenly from complications after a fall, on Friday April 1, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA. Born in Jamaica Plain, Boston, on Friday March 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (McLaren) Sauer. Loretta grew up in Boston and attended school in Jamaica Plain. She and her husband Frank have been residents of Lakeville, MA, for the past 33 years. Loretta worked as a packer for the Dyecraftsman Company formerly of Taunton, MA, and enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. In addition to her husband Frank, Loretta is survived by her daughter Debbie Dexter of New Bedford, son David Carey of Lakeville, three grandchildren AJ Ferreira, Tony, and Brandon Costa, and many close friends. Loretta was also the sister of the late Carolyn Pelechowicz. Memorial visitation for Loretta will be held on Thursday April 7, 2022, from 5:00 – 8:00PM at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. Immediately followed by a prayer service at 8:00PM.
