Lorna Jane (Demoura) Deane, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully departed from this world on January 24, 2026, in Kentucky. Born on April 20, 1962, in Taunton, Massachusetts, Lorna was the cherished daughter of Audrey (Parker) Demoura and the late Richard Demoura.
A proud 1980 graduate of Taunton High School, Lorna pursued her passion for caring for others by earning her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate from Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical High School. Her compassionate spirit shone brightly during her years of dedicated work in a pediatric office. Lorna and her husband, Michael Deane, shared a loving marriage that spanned 45 years, bringing joy not only to each other but to all who knew them.
After residing in Taunton for many years, Lorna and Michael moved to Kentucky seven years ago, where she continued to take pride in nurturing their home. Her warm heart extended to her many passions, including arts and crafts, quilting, and baking. Lorna was a devoted member of Christ Community Church in East Taunton, where she fostered friendships within her community.
Lorna leaves behind her loving husband, Michael; her daughter, Jessica Taylor, and grandson, Conor, of Berea, Kentucky; her second daughter, Karen, who hails from Australia and was a former exchange student with Lorna and Michael; three brothers; and her treasured African grey parrot, Beaker, who has been her companion for over 30 years.
In honor of Lorna's life and legacy, a public viewing will be held at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home on February 13, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Lorna will be laid to rest at Cedar Knoll Cemetery in East Taunton during the spring of 2026.
As family and friends gather to celebrate Lorna's life, we invite you to join in remembering a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
