Lorraine Wright Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Gail Wright, who departed this life on September 13, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on November 11, 1940, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Lorraine was a devoted homemaker known for her warmth and compassion. She spent her early years in Lynn and Middleton, where she was educated and began her remarkable journey through life.

Lorraine's early career included a stint at Davis Shoe Company, where her petite feet earned her the distinction of being a shoe model. However, it was her role as a loving mother and dedicated homemaker that defined her life. She married her late husband, David Wright, and together they raised five children, moving from Lynn to Carver, Massachusetts, where Lorraine contributed to the community by working in the school cafeteria and sewing for a novelty hat company.

In their later years, Lorraine and David found joy in the serene beauty of New Hampshire, cherishing every moment spent dancing and embarking on driving trips, particularly to the southern states, which they adored. Family was the cornerstone of Lorraine's life, and she treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Lorraine is predeceased by her beloved husband, David, her parents, Arthur W. Anthony and Verna W. Anthony (Blethen), and her cherished daughter, Cathy Ann Atkins (Wright). She leaves behind a loving legacy, survived by her children: Barbara Fontaine (Dana), Philip Wright (Suzanne), Karen Wright (Kyle), and Steven Wright; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lorraine's life during visiting hours at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street in Lakeville, Massachusetts, on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A prayer service, officiated by her son Philip, will follow to conclude the services.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Lorraine touched the lives of many and will be profoundly missed. May she rest in peace.
