Margaret Shirley (Griggs) Crock

Margaret Shirley (Griggs) Crock, 95, of Middleboro, MA, formerly of Holland, MA, passed away on Wednesday July 21, 2021, at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA, following a brief illness. Born on Monday June 7, 1926, in Hartford, CT, Margaret was the daughter of the late David C. and Gertrude A. (Kenyon) Griggs. Margaret graduated from Hartford High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Framingham State College. Margaret enjoyed spending time and swimming with her large extended family at the lakes in Holland, MA, and surrounding area lakes. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and crafting. Later, she enjoyed socializing with her many wonderful friends at the Holland Council on Aging and became the Senior Center Director until her retirement at age 85. Eventually, Margaret moved to Middleboro, MA , to be closer to family. Margaret is survived by her; daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” Berniche of Middleboro, MA, daughter Mary Fontaine of Middleboro, MA, daughter, Carol Woods of Port St. Lucie, FL, seven grandchildren including their spouses and families, and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her son, Stephen Crock, daughter Janet Crock, brothers John and David Griggs, and great grandson Bryant McDonald. A graveside service is being planned by the family with the assistance of the funeral home at Holland Cemetery, on Brimfield Road in Holland, MA, following cremation. Date and time to be announced.
