Marie Doris (Medeiros) Pierce, 77, a longtime resident of Middleboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27 after a period of failing health.
Born and raised in Raynham, daughter of the late Antone and Lily Medeiros, she lived in Raynham until moving to Middleboro in 1965 with her husband to raise her family.
Marie was a thoughtful and caring person who struggled with health issues most of her adult life but tending to her plants, watching cooking shows on TV and enjoying time with her family brought her much joy.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard F. Pierce, Sr, her sister, Carolyn Medeiros of Raynham, her daughter, Tina and husband David Zantrofski of Rochester, MA, her son, Richard Jr and wife Sally Pierce of Raynham, her grandchildren, Timothy and Erin Zantrofski of Chicopee, MA, Tyler and Pawinee Zantrofski of Swansea, MA and her great-grandson, Kai Zantrofski.
Marie loved yellow roses and was Elvis' biggest fan. In lieu of flowers for the family, please consider buying some yellow roses for yourself or listening to some Elvis music while remembering her fondly, now free from pain and physical limitations.
Marie expressed her wishes to her family that she did not wish for a funeral after her passing but rather a party to celebrate her life and we will honor her wishes. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. Please contact a member of the family should you like to attend.
